Our Story
/ˈmɪʃ.ti/ · Bengali · adj
sweetness: the quiet way we speak love through creation
01 — Where our story began
Before specialty desserts, there was Mehendi by Mariam, an Instagram account created in 2018, and the beginnings of what we now call Mehndi by Mishti. From being introduced to henna art in 2016, to creating a digital portfolio just two years later, Mariam poured her creative expression into her mehndi designs. These early practices became the foundation for what would inspire the brand Mishti.
It's why mehndi remains at the heart of everything we do.
02 — How we grew
What began as baking for those we love grew into something more deliberate — a devotion to sharing that joy with our community, and the belief that flavor should never be an afterthought.
Every dessert is designed in conversation: flavors first, then design. Made with intention and uncompromising precision.
What we believe
"We don't just create. We honor the moments worth celebrating with something intentional, elevated, and unforgettable."
Meet Mariam
Behind all things Mishti is Mariam: a baker, henna artist, and designer by training. Long before it became a brand, Mishti was the name her community called her, an endearment meaning sweet-natured. The memories that came with it shape her creative process today, from conversations with her three brothers about the flavor profile of bhuna (slow-cooked curry) to stealing one more bite of the shinni (flour halwa) her mom would make after Friday prayer. She weighs flavor and design in equal measure, so every detail is as intentional as the ingredients themselves.
What drives her work is never the craft alone, but the response it inspires: the quiet delight of a first taste, the messages clients might leave, and the knowledge that real care went into a moment that mattered. That same spirit of service shapes everything created here at Mishti.

Our values
Our Bengali heritage lives throughout Mishti. From our dessert menu to our mehndi designs, connection is our love language.
We accept only a select number of orders, so nothing is rushed and every detail is accounted for.
Taste leads; design follows. Expect elements like vanilla bean, fig leaf chantilly cream, and each component made in-house.
From the first conversation to the finishing touch, we bring your vision to life.
